Malmesbury Town Team are leading the way in Wiltshire with the launch of a new town-wide campaign to encourage people to shop local, spend locally and support the town’s many independent retailers.
The promotional campaign includes visuals of Malmesbury shopkeepers acting as photographic models and visual storytellers. Many of the town’s residents and regular visitors will recognise the faces shown on banners, poster, billboards and on social media. As part of the campaign, Facebook and Instagram will be used to share trader promotions and stories, as well as promoting the Malmesbury Gift Card.
Alongside this local campaign, Malmesbury Town Team will also be running a digital ‘Stay a While’ visitor campaign designed to reach UK travellers looking for a safe, historic and vibrant place to visit.
Malmesbury Town Team spokesperson Gordon MacPherson said, “The challenge retailers face is massive and now that we’re safely open up to the public again, businesses in Malmesbury are looking towards the future where active marketing which encourages support to local traders will be vital. There is a huge opportunity to make the most of our Malmesbury Gift Card scheme with over 34 town centre shops and businesses involved and Malmesbury offers free parking for 2 hours in Station Yard Car Park. Let’s not forget how lucky we are in Malmesbury to live in such a vibrant, treasured and historic place as we return to the High Street, shop local and see our businesses build again for the future.”
The Malmesbury Town Team’s campaign launch coincides with The Business Exchange’s 15 week long #LoveLocalWilts campaign, encouraging people to get out, support local and explore the many wonderful places on our doorstep. We are now into week three of our campaign sponsored by Nathan Ind Financial Planning and Malmesbury is our featured town this week. Follow #LoveLocalWilts on social media to see all of the businesses we’ve been profiling.
