Jodie Joyce has joined entrepreneur Samantha Reed as the studio manager of Wiltshire’s prestigious The Dancing Academy based in Chippenham.

Jodie (33) was taken on to help run the day-to-day activities of the dance school, based in Foundry Lane, Chippenham, after many years of attending with her daughter Darcie.

Managing Director Samantha Reed said: “Jodie has quickly become invaluable to the business. I’ve often viewed myself as ‘unmanageable’ in many ways but she’s come in and made my life so much easier and the business is running smoothly behind the scenes. I cannot imagine being without her now.”

Jodie and Samantha have been friends for years after Jodie’s daughter started ballet lessons when she was younger. Jodie, who lives in Chippenham,  started volunteering at dance classes to help Samantha but also to do something different.

She said: “I’m a very sociable person, I enjoy variety and I like dealing with customers. It was Darcie’s passion for dancing which brought me here and I very quickly want to be part of the success of the business.”

Samantha said: “After a time I realised how much I needed someone like Jodie to help me be even better in my business. It was a logical step to offer Jodie a role which works for me and for her.”

The Dancing Academy was set up by dance teacher Samantha Reed (40) in 2008.

It provides classes in classical ballet, baby ballet, adult ballet, tap, street and modern dance as well as offering musical theatre, singing, drama and Pilates. Alongside Samantha are four other ex professional dancers, now teachers. Currently about 250 adults and children attend the academy each week. For further information visit
