Business in the Community is the Prince’s Responsible Business Network. From April 18-22 it’s their annual Responsible Business Week. Find out more about it here
It’s a high profile opportunity for businesses and organisations of all sorts to demonstrate the many ways that they can work together to turn ambition into positive action for a fairer society and a more sustainable future.
The Business Exchange Swindon & Wiltshire is working with local Business in the Community representatives Ian Browne (Swindon Business Connector) and Jemma Garland (Wiltshire Business Connector) to stage a one-off event at Bailbrook House Hotel on Wednesday April 20.
The event will take place between 6:30pm-8:30pm and is £5 for local businesses to attend. All funds taken on the night will be split between the two charities in attendance, Business against Poverty and Julia’s House. There will be the opportunity to network, find out more about the work of Business in the Community and take part in three fun challenges aimed at finding out how your business can be more responsible.
Business against Poverty is a local community of business people who care about the issues of poverty and ethical standards. They are taking action through their charity People against Poverty, based in Trowbridge. Business against Poverty will be there on the night and will be challenging attendees to build a pretend micro-farm showcasing the work of one of the projects the charity funds in Romania.
Wiltshire’s first Children’s Hospice Julia’s House will also be engaging with attendees on the night, with other activities organised to help you understand the needs of the Hospice and ways that you might be able to help.
The idea is to create a fun and memorable evening helping local businesses with the same ethical and responsible values to connect and help make Wiltshire great for both business and the local community.
To book your space at this special event email: firstname.lastname@example.org
We will collect the £5 event fee on the night and the funds will be split between the two charities at the end of the evening. We do need attendees to register to ensure we can plan the event properly in terms of activities and refreshments.
