Wiltshire charity People against Poverty has named the Chippenham-based accountancy firm Chippendale and Clark as its headline sponsor for this year’s Gala Ball.
Chippendale and Clark specialises in supporting the business community across the South West and prides itself on building client relationships based on trust – principles that have helped the business to grow significantly in recent years.
The theme for this year’s event is ‘The Gatsby Gala Fundraising Ball.’
Phil Clark, Owner and Director of Chippendale & Clark, has been a member of People against Poverty’s business community – Business against Poverty – for several years. He explained, “Chippendale & Clark is a successful practice and we wanted to share some of this success with a cause that felt close to our hearts. Working with a small, local charity was important to us and we liked the work that People against Poverty was doing. Rather than just make a monthly donation, we decided to become a member of Business against Poverty, a community of close to 100 local businesses, all of which support the charity’s goals and ambitions. This provides another income stream for the charity but crucially it also helps People against Poverty to access expertise and other resources across its membership.”
Phil continued, “The charity’s motto, ‘A handshake, not a handout’ is based on the principle that if you help someone, they, in turn, will help others and the ripple effect will lead to someone’s world becoming a better place to live and work in. My team and I are very excited that through our support, along with the other business members, the charity’s first micro-farm based in Romania has become self-sustaining and the benefits to the local community have been considerable.”
