Charles Tedstone, founder of the Chippenham-based firm, Cherry Management, has been shortlisted for the 2017 NatWest Great British Entrepreneur Awards in the Innovation Entrepreneur of the Year category.
Cherry Management is a ‘challenger company’ dedicated to promoting change and growth in markets that are important to society.
Charles explained, “I set up Cherry to promote change and growth in markets that matter to society. I’m starting with the housing market and am about to launch CoBuy, a new initiative which is set to give the property market a much-needed shakeup. Our country faces a growing housing crisis and not enough action has been taken to help “generation rent”. It’s time for a new solution and my team and I are very excited to be embarking on something that could help thousands of people struggling to get on the housing ladder.”
Now in its fifth year, the NatWest Great British Entrepreneur Awards has celebrated numerous entrepreneurs over the years. Past winners include David Buttress of Just Eat, Julie Deane of The Cambridge Satchel Company, James Watt of BrewDog and Alexander Solomou of TheLADBible Group.
Creator of the Awards, Francesca James, said, “Charles Tedstone is a financial entrepreneur who’s driven to create practical solutions to problems in society. By re-aligning financial interests to ensure an equitable deal for all parties, his firm, Cherry’s CoBuy solution responds to the problem of a generation of buyers struggling to get onto the property ladder.”
Gordon Merrylees, head of entrepreneurship at NatWest, added, “I want to thank all of the entrepreneurs who entered this year and congratulate those who have been shortlisted, I look forward to seeing them at the regional finals.”
