Call for Swindon employers to join educational taskforce

By Anita Jaynes on 21 January, 2016

Financial and professional sector employers in Swindon are being encouraged to join a taskforce dedicated to improving the skills needs of the sector.

The skills gap is a pressing concern for the business community, and the group gives companies the chance to work directly with educational training providers in Swindon. With the opportunity to have a direct impact on the development of course material to tailor it to their needs, this is a sure fire way of developing the next generation of young talent.

Organised by Swindon Skills Mapping and Brokerage Service which is managed by Business West, the first meeting will be at New College in Swindon on Wednesday 27 January 12.30 – 2.30pm.

The Taskforce will discuss issues highlighted by the sector, such as course delivery and specific skills needs going forward. There will also be an opportunity to discuss the Financial Academy in Swindon and learn about the Higher Futures Programme.
