With staycation expected to be the buzzword of the summer following Brexit, UK holiday park company Haulfryn is preparing to welcome an influx of holidaymakers to its resorts in 2019.

The firm, which has seven parks throughout the South West including Brokerswood near Westbury, is in the midst of a multi-million investment programme across its portfolio.

Haulfryn is continuing to build on its successful model of active family holiday resorts, finding a niche for those who want to unwind in outstanding locations with the opportunity to take part in a range of family-friendly activities at the same time.

In one of their most ambitious projects to date, Haulfryn is creating a luxury holiday park at Delamere sailing lake in Cheshire. The resort will allow visitors to enjoy activities on the water and relax in their own luxury lodges around the lake’s edge.

According to VisitBritain statistics, the number of people staycationing in the UK has increased year on year since 2016, with 2019 looking again promising for the UK holiday market. In addition, the organisation has recently announced that it expects the number of international visitors to the UK last year to have reached a record 40.9million people.

Haulfryn Group CEO Bobby McGhee said, “The UK has no shortage of outstanding scenery – from the north Wales coastline to the Wiltshire countryside and the beautiful landscapes of south Devon. We’re privilidged to be able to create holiday resorts which allow people to experience these fantastic places all year round, with home-from-home luxury space and facilities for all the family to enjoy.

“As a company we have experienced significant growth in recent years as people look to purchase their own ‘piece of paradise’ – quality holiday accommodation to enjoy with the children and grandchildren. Our mission is to continue to ensure our parks deliver the very best experience for our buyers and holiday makers alike so that they can concentrate on enjoying time  with their friends and families.

“Going back 10 or 20 years, holiday parks around the UK tended to be outdated with tired facilities and below par accommodation. Haulfryn as a company has addressed this by continually investing in our parks – from beauty spas to fitness centres, restaurants to tennis courts, we’re making sure that a staycation doesn’t compromise on quality.

“With the uncertainty surrounding Brexit and an uncertain future for the UK, we’re seeing an increase in enquiries from people looking to invest in a family holiday home where they can enjoy some of the very best the UK has to offer.”

For those looking for sheer indulgence, the Warren in Abersoch combines beautiful seafront living with the very best standards in accommodation. The park, which overlooks the Irish sea towards Cardigan, is a favourite amongst celebrities investing in family holidaying.

Brokerswood Holiday Park which opened in 2018 is set in 80 acres of beautiful historic woodland close to Bath, Lacock, Salisbury, Stonehenge and Longleat. With its own lake and woodland walks the park boasts the ultimate countryside retreat, with accommodation available from 2 bed pods to 4 bed lodges.

Further south west in Devon, Haulfryn has made additional investment at Finlake. Over £23 million has been spent on new leisure and spa facilities including a new water park opened by Sharron Davies MBE. The resort attracts more than 50,000 holidaymakers to the area each year.
