Another barnstorming year of transactional activity ensured property consultancy Alder King retained its title as the South West’s Most Active Agent for the 16th year in succession.  As well as winning the overall title, the firm was ranked top in the offices, industrial and investment sectors.

The firm won the award from leading property publication Estates Gazette which commented: “Extending its South West winning streak to 16 years is Bristol-headquartered Alder King which once again chalked up leads in offices, industrial and investment.”

The rankings present a detailed breakdown by region and sector to show which companies transacted the most deals in 2016, offering intriguing evidence of how firms weathered the tumultuous national and global events of 2016.

James Gregory, partner at Alder King’s Swindon office, said: “We’re the only firm in the UK to have won the competition for 16 consecutive years which is an incredible achievement.

“Despite the turbulent events of last year, we succeeded once again in delivering many of the region’s largest and most significant transactions, something we’re very proud of.

“These include the sale of a four acre site at Hampton Park West in Melksham to Dick Lovett for a flagship Jaguar Land Rover dealership, the 17,000 sq ft letting of Isambard House to The Pets at Home Vet Group and the letting of Avonbridge House in Chippenham to Alliance Pharmaceutical, Swindon and Chippenham’s largest office deals respectively.

“Prospects for 2017 look very encouraging with more high profile transactions in the pipeline despite tightening supply in many locations.  We look forward to building further on our market-leading position.”
