A Sailsbury hotel has just completed a major £100,000 project to redesign its restaurant, bar and banqueting facilities as part of its on-going investment in the property over recent years.

The Legacy Rose and Crown Hotel, on Harnham Road, Salisbury, has completed a full refit of the main restaurant at the four-star hotel just months after the creation of three new guest suites.

The investment has involved the concept creation and a full refurbishment and redecoration of the Cathedral restaurant, complete with new carpets and fittings.

The newly-named Rivers Edge Restaurant, which is also used for weddings and social banqueting, features an introduction of a new bar area along with new breakfast, brunch and all-day food menus.

Derek McNeill, general manager at the Rose and Crown, which is operated by Legacy Hotels and Resorts, said the new-look restaurant and bar has been extremely well received both by established and loyal customers as well as first time visitors to the property.

“We’ve made some major changes to the restaurant and banqueting facilities which we are confident will help attract new diners and guests to the hotel,” he said.

“When we decided to make a change we set out to create a new more retail casual dining experience which has a relaxing environment, be it for all-day diners, wedding parties or social banqueting events, while also maintaining the high level of standard and affordable menus we are well known for.

“The Rose and Crown is well established in Salisbury and has the best dining views and outside terrace overlooking the cathedral and River Avon.

“The hotel is heaped in history, being an original 13th century coaching inn and whenever refurbishments are carried out it is always a challenge to retain the historic feel and relaxed atmosphere and we’re confident we’ve been successful in doing so.”
