Lexus Swindon and Julia’s House Children’s Hospice are inviting local businesspeople to join a special networking event later this month.

Julia’s House, which cares for seriously ill children across Wiltshire and their families, has been chosen as Lexus Swindon’s 2024 Charity of the Year.

The networking morning at the Lexus Paddington Drive dealership in Swindon on Wednesday 27th March will kickstart a year of fundraising activity and support for the charity.

The event will feature a talk on ‘Cultivating Culture’ from Julia’s House Chief Executive, Martin Edwards.

Now approaching his 15th year as the charity’s CEO, Dr Martin Edwards will share ideas and stories from his own experience of leading an organisation that was last year named the ‘Best Charity to Work For’ at the national Best Companies awards.

Attendees will have the opportunity to explore how Julia’s House fosters a culture of support and excellence, and gain valuable insights into creating a positive workplace culture.

The event will also provide the opportunity to network with other local businesspeople, and enjoy breakfast refreshments.

Ben Wildeboer, Lexus Business Centre Manager, said, “We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Julia’s House Children’s Hospice as our chosen charity for the year 2024. At Lexus Swindon, we believe strongly in supporting local charities, especially those that provide essential care and support to families facing the unimaginable challenge of having a seriously ill child.

“Many of our staff members have families of their own, which makes our support for Julia’s House particularly meaningful to us. We are dedicated to ensuring that families in our community have access to the exceptional care and support that Julia’s House offers during such challenging times.”

Jo Common, Corporate Fundraiser for Julia’s House, said, “This is our first time hosting a networking event, so we’re really excited and delighted to have the support of Lexus Swindon. The event will offer a brilliant opportunity to exchange ideas, build partnerships and socialise with other local businesspeople over coffee and pastries.

“We’re so pleased that the team at Lexus Swindon have chosen Julia’s House as their Charity of the Year for 2024. As a charity, Julia’s House only receives around 8% Government funding. This year, we’re anticipating that our care costs and the demand for our care will continue to increase, so we’re even more reliant on our amazing supporters to help us provide our lifeline of care for local families.”

Tickets for the Julia’s House Networking event cost £10. Booking is essential. Please sign up at the Julia’s House website
