Celebrating five years of connecting businesses, charities and not for profits for success

By Anita Jaynes on 28 March, 2023

The Business Exchange South West Charity Conference & Expo is returning for a fifth year on Thursday 15th June at Bath Racecourse.

The theme for the day is collaboration and the aim is to provide a space for organisations from all sectors to network, share learnings and go for growth with far reaching benefits to our communities. We will be asking the question, how can we all work together to find answers to our collective societal challenges from rising inflation to budget cuts, a struggling NHS and more?

To make the day happen, we are proud to be working in partnership with Milsted Langdon and Stone King who are founding sponsors of the conference and expo. We are also delighted to announce that RBC Brewin Dolphin have shown their support and will be joining forces with The Business Exchange, Milsted Langdon and Stone King with the aim to widen the day’s impact across the South West.

The Business Exchange South West Charity Conference & Expo is a unique event in the UK. There are lots of charity and not for profit events on a national scale but not so many that focus on a region and uniting a community. The event has grown from just a conference with 100 people in a room in 2019, to now attracting 600+ delegates and over 50 exhibition stands.

On the day we have exhibitors promoting many causes from local hospices to wildlife charities and mental health organisations. It also attracts many stand holders who provide services to the third sector, from banks to insurance companies, technology firms and more.

The event is always packed with seminar sessions on topical subjects, from charities vital signs reports to talks on governance, finance, social media and digital transformation. The Business Exchange South West Charity Conference & Expo is also a space for businesses to learn more about Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), discuss Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and find out how they can help local causes to make a difference.

Gill Freeman, Head of Charity and Not For Profit at Milsted Langdon said, “We are proud to sponsor this event for a fifth year. It is a great opportunity to catch up with so many passionate charity leaders and to share advice and guidance on issues that really matter to the sector.”

Tim Rutherford, Partner at Stone King, said, “The South West Charity Conference & Expo continues to go from strength to strength. The event provides a much-needed face-to-face networking opportunity and drives many collaborative ideas.”

New sponsor, Les Redwood, Head of Charities Business Development at RBC Brewin Dolphin, added, “I’ve been to The Business Exchange South West Charity Conference & Expo each year since it began and can see its power. It’s been amazing to watch it grow and in my new role at RBC Brewin Dolphin I was keen to get behind it. At RBC Brewin Dolphin we are looking to grow our presence across the South West and by working in partnership with The Business Exchange, Milsted Langdon and Stone King we aim to strengthen the local charity and third sector community and in turn aid its growth.”
