What time does your alarm go off?
6:45am – during these dark mornings I need a loud alarm to wake me up!
What’s the first thing you do?
After the usual shower and shave, I make myself an espresso and a bowl of porridge to jump-start the day. Hopefully my girls are downstairs as well and we have breakfast together.
What do you do for lunch?
I usually work through lunch. I will have a quick sandwich or salad as I deal with client emails and other pressing tasks.
What do you love most about your job?
Spending time with my customers. It’s only by visiting them and discussing how they use technology, that I can understand and improve their processes and productivity.
What’s the worst part of the job?
Running a business means you are constantly looking forward. Sometimes you need to stop and appreciate the present.
What executive tool/ gadget could you not live without?
My iPhone, even for a techie. Sometimes I think back to my first Nokia 20 years ago and wonder how I managed. What we can now do on a smartphone is pretty amazing.
What do you do after work?
I love cooking and my children really enjoy it too. Cooking with them at the weekend is a real treat. They are also pretty good cooks themselves.
If you changed direction, what would be your Plan B?
Some form of teaching or coaching to help the next generation to combine technology with business in order to meet their goals.
