To celebrate The Business Exchange Swindon & Wiltshire’s third birthday, this month we’re profiling the team behind our magazine and its online offering, in our regular AM to PM slot- a one day diary from rise and shine to lights out.
This week we put the spotlight on Dale Wyatt, founder and director of Juicy Designs. Dale designed The Business Exchange’s brand identity and has worked on the publication for nearly three years.
Juicy Designs is a creative design and marketing agency with offices in Swindon and South Oxfordshire. Collectively, the company brings together over 40 years of ‘big agency’ experience, helping businesses of all sizes communicate what they do best to their target audience by producing memorable and effective marketing communications.
Juicy Designs pride themselves on delivering cost effective advice, support, design and production across the full marketing mix – from brand creation or refresh, sales literature, websites, emails, presentation documents, exhibitions, videos and pretty much everything else in between.
What time does your alarm go off?
It doesn’t. My internal body clock wakes me up naturally everyday – even if I need to get up early, it seems to know!
What’s the first thing you do?
Have a black coffee – it’s the only way to kick start my day.
What do you do for lunch?
I usually work through it so I tend to bring my lunch into the studio.
What do you love most about your job?
Overseeing projects from concept right through to completion. Having worked in lots of big agencies is the past, I love having full control back and supporting clients every step of the way.
What’s the worst part of the job?
Finding the right time to take a holiday! There’s never a good time I know, but that can sometimes lead to not being able to switch off completely. That said, having the opportunity to run my own business definitely outweighs any negatives!
What executive tool/ gadget could you not live without?
It would have to be my Mac – although the thinking behind every job always starts with a pen and paper. I do play my music through it though, which is something I couldn’t live without.
What do you do after work?
Explore. I love exploring the unknown, be it a walk down a footpath, a climb up a mountain or a trip underground. I always want to find out what’s round the next corner. And if I’m not exploring, I’m either tinkering with my old Land Rovers or volunteering to signpost rights of way, mainly on Salisbury Plain working with the MOD and Wiltshire County Council.
If you changed direction, what would be your Plan B?
Run some sort of outdoor pursuits activity centre or rent out a few holiday lets somewhere remote!
