AM to PM in lockdown with Anna-Marie Healy

By Anita Jaynes on 2 May, 2020

During COVID lockdown we’re reviving our AM to PM feature which delves into the lives and day-to-day diaries of members of our local business community. It’s great to be nosy and find out how others are coping, structuring their days and getting through these tricky times.

In this post we put the spotlight on Anna-Marie Healy.

Anna-Marie Healy is Office Manager at Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers, Haines Watts Swindon. Anna-Marie lives in Swindon and has had a long career in marketing and logistics.

What time does your alarm go off?

Initially 7am, the back up alarm goes off at 7.15am.

What’s the first thing you do?

Make my bed, it sets the tone for the day having already accomplished a task. Something I learnt through mindfulness.

What do you do for lunch?

I do love a sandwich and am a particular fan of ham and mustard, sometimes I will have pasta or rice instead. I tend to eat a late dinner so I like lunch to fill me up.

What do you love most about your job?

The variety of responsibilities I have, particularly at the moment I wear many hats relating to office and marketing management for the site, region and national team.

What’s the worst part of the job?

Working office hours probably, although that’s not even that bad! I would prefer starting earlier and finishing earlier so I had more time in the evenings for the course I’m studying part time.

What executive tool/ gadget could you not live without?

My phone. It has everything on it that I need to keep in touch with family, friends, colleagues, clients and suppliers. Then there’s the app’s, having an iPhone really makes working remotely and social distancing a much easier experience.

What do you do after work?

I am currently studying part time with the Open Uni for a psychology degree which takes up a lot of spare time. Other than that I would usually spend most of my time with family and friends, mostly for dinners or drinks – anything that gets me away from screen time, study and laughing.

If you changed direction, what would be your Plan B?

I’m not interested in a plan B right now and don’t foresee that until I finish my studies at least. If I had to guess right now what my Plan B would be, it would probably be to focus on a full time marketing career.
