5 To Follow Friday – A finance and business support special

By Anita Jaynes on 14 May, 2021

Each week via our social feeds we share five interesting businesses or organisations to check out and follow on social media. We then choose our favourites to give some extra coverage in our magazines. This week we have a finance and business support theme.

Lucy Paine – Innovation for Growth Lead, University of the West of England (UWE)

Lucy wears several hats which are all about bringing people together, developing a community and driving growth.

In Lucy’s role at UWE, she’s currently working on a new business support programme delivered by UWE Bristol and funded by the European Development Fund (ERDF). There is a pot of up to £760,000 to help local businesses grow and innovate and the project is aptly named, Innovation 4 Growth.

SMEs in Swindon and Wiltshire can access grants of up to £40,000 to help support research and development (R&D) projects.

You might not call your plans for business change “innovation”, they are likely to be a response to the last 14 months, the challenges, and opportunities from a world in flux. But, if you are planning to implement new processes or techniques for existing or new parts of the business – or starting something completely new, Innovation 4 Growth can help you with grant funding. Connect with Lucy to find out more and visit: www.innovation4growth.co.uk Applications close 16th June 2021.
