Service specialist picks up for Pebley

Service specialist Lloyd Pickup has been named one of the top brand ambassadors in the country, after reaching the final of a national competition run by Hyundai UK.

Lloyd, a service advisor at Pebley Beach in Swindon, was one of six regional winners to make it to the finals of the Aftersales Guild in at Hyundai’s UK headquarters in High Wycombe, seeing off competition from more than 260 other entrants nationwide.

Competitors were asked to prove their mettle by answering questions on servicing matters and Hyundai’s five-year warranty, before taking part in a number of role-playing challenges.

Lloyd excelled in the Dragon’s Den element of the competition, where he had to ‘sell’ his dealership and its customer service values.

Despite a flip board which kept collapsing – raising laughter from the panel – Lloyd was awarded top marks, and won the coveted toy dragon.

Lloyd has been with Pebley Beach for five years. It is only the second time he has entered the competition.
