rts Group Managing Director Malcolm Miller has been admitted as a Fellow of the Institute of the Motor Industry, joining the company’s Chairman and founder Richard Wells.
The Chippenham-based company was founded in 1989 and has been providing learning and development services to the automotive industry for 25 years. With businesses across Europe, the Middle East, China and South Africa, it works primarily in the automotive sector and its clients are well-known manufacturers and brands, such as Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, Mazda and Nissan.
“It’s a great honour to have been made a Fellow of the IMI,” said Malcolm. “There are equivalent institutes in other countries, but the IMI is by far the most prestigious and well-established. It is a valued and recognised name in a global marketplace, especially in the Middle and Far East.”
Malcolm began his career in UK investment, moving into the automotive industry 15 years ago. He has been with rts for five years, and became Managing Director in 2012.
rts is one of few independent learning and development companies to boast two directors with FIMI accreditation on the board. Richard was admitted as an FIMI in 1991.
“We’ve been building up our experience and knowledge for 25 years and are exporting learning and development expertise around the globe. The UK automotive sector isn’t just about selling cars it’s about selling knowledge too,” said Malcolm.
Richard, who founded rts in 1989 after a long career in automotive dealership groups, said: “The FIMI status for both myself and for Malcolm shows the importance placed on learning and development as a strategic part of the automotive sector.”
