What time does your alarm go off?
6.10am on most work days and 5.45am on a Wednesday, when I greet my very mean personal trainer who will put me through my paces for an hour.
What’s the first thing you do?
Have a super quick check on my e-mails from work and my children’s schools (the children have a crazy schedule and have a better social life than me!), straight into the shower and then usually trip over our mad cocker spaniel, Oscar.
What do you do for lunch?
Sadly, I am mostly at my desk but will occasionally go for a cheeky run with a few of my colleagues.
What do you love most about your job?
I genuinely love getting to know my clients and their families. Every case has its own story to tell and brings its own challenges and rewards.
What’s the worst part of the job?
I see families devastated by life changing injuries which is something that is never easy, although I feel very privileged to be trusted to enter into their lives and assist them through what can be a difficult, but in a great many cases, an essential process
What executive tool/gadget could you not live without?
My beloved calculator I ‘acquired’ from one of my secretaries from days gone by. It’s great for quick calculations and I’d be lost without it. Thank you George!
What do you do after work?
I enjoy my children, our dog and just being at home. I have always loved keeping fit and running is my sanctuary (sometimes the wetter and windier the better). I’ve taken part in lots of half marathons, 10ks and a couple of marathons (although I must improve that time). I have also just volunteered to walk/run the Ridgeway (87 miles) to raise money for a charity very close to my heart, The Silverlining Charity (www.thesilverlining.org.uk), who provide support to anyone affected by brain injury.
If you changed direction what would be your plan B?
That’s a difficult one – a job that was perhaps not so desk-bound, but still very people-orientated.
